Hihara Kazuki
is a third year student in the music branch of Seiso Gauken high school. He was
one of the 7 students chosen to take part in the Concours. He plays the trumpet.
Hihara is friends with Yunoki Azuma, who's a fellow third year student, chosen
for the Concours and plays the flute.
La corda d'oro as a whole
didn't leave much of an impression on me. However, I could easily decide that
my favorite character was Hihara Kazuki. Hihara is very cheerful, friendly,
easy-going and, sometimes, childish. He becomes friends with Hino Kahoko, the
main character, from the general branch fast and helps her. He teaches her that
music is to be enjoyed. He also gets along well with Tsuchiura Ryotaro, the
other participant from the general branch, in spite of his more serious
character. He's the first one of the guys to realize he's in love with Kahoko.
He's very shy, when it comes to that. His face always turns red whenever
something of that sort is mentioned. He was very excited about calling Kahoko,
Kaho-chan instead of Hino-chan. However, he keeps his crush a secret. Hihara
was formerly a member of the track team. Then, he heard the sound of the
trumpet from an older student and he was charmed by it. Hihara likes food, and
that's another cool thing about him. :D
One thing I
found so hard to believe is that Hihara's voice actor is Bleach's Ichigo voice
actor. However, Hihara's and Ichigo' characters are completely different, and I
never seize to be amazed by how much a single seiyu can change his/her voice to
suit the character.
