Song of the day (7)

Here's a wonderful one ;)

What a wonderful world

By: Louis Armestrong
Album: What a wonderful world
Genre: Traditional pop
Release date: October, 1967
About the song: The song was intended to calm the charged atmosphere in the USA due to Racism and politics. It's a hopeful song that reminds us that life has its good merits that are worth hanging on to. The song was not received well in USA due to the ill promotion of ABC records, but it topped the charts in the UK. The song was featured in a TV drama in 1978 and in the movie "Good morning , Vietnam" and bit by bit it grew on people :D
It has sold 2,173,000 downloads as of April, 2014. It was covered by many artists and bands including Micheal Buble, Tony Benett, Celine Dion and OneRepublic.
Why I chose it: It has this soothing feeling, it's like a lullaby that you'd love to sleep with the tune in your ears. I can't remember when I heard it for the first time, but it's just one of those songs that I've loved as a child ^_^
