Character: Lavi

Anime: D.Gray-man

Role: Main

             Lavi is one of the four main D.Gray-man characters, and he shows up the last. Lavi's debut was after Allen's first encounter with Road Camelot. Allen's got his left eye, which detects akuma, injured back then and he could detect them then. That's when Lavi opens Allen's eyes to the true nature of an exorcist's position. They have to doubt everyone, because everyone is possibly a demon. In spite of Lavi's dark view on the matter, which is nothing but the truth, he seems to be a rather cheerful. He gets along with everyone one and he gives them nicknames. He's also attracted by pretty women, with his famous "Strike!"; surely an outside that doesn't translate Lavi's inner conflict. 

            Lavi is originally a bookman. Bookmen record history without interference, not being part of it. Being an exorcist is part of his job as a bookman, recording the battle between exorcists and akuma. Lavi is bookman junior, where "Bookman" is his mentor. Lavi is often seen breaking up fights between Allen and Kanda, however, he's fighting all the time with Bookman. Bookman scolds Lavi frequently, he keep reminding him of his duties as a bookman. Being a bookman and an exorcist put Lavi into a dilemma. A bookman shouldn't be biased. They should not get too much attached to people, they shouldn't get emotional. However, being an exorcist made him involuntarily care for his fellow exorcists. We, first, witness Lavi's struggle, after Allen's incident with Tykki Mykk. It comes to its peak on his encounter with Road Camelot, where he's forced to make a choice.

            Lavi, beside Allen, is my favorite D.Gray-man character. I, generally, like the comic relief characters in anime, but Lavi is way more than that. He and Allen make very good work partners, actually the best, they get along very well. In spite of his resistance to getting too much involved, Lavi care a lot for his friends. He was troubled by Allen's incident, and his alleged death, also he's been protective of Lenalee. Although, he spent with them only a brief time, he was liked by Anita's crew, and Chomesuke, the modified akuma, who was given that name by Lavi.  Also, Lavi's innocence is one of my D.Gray man's favorite. It comes only second to cross Marian's. Finally, a rather girly remark, Lavi's good looks complement his interesting characters making him my favorite! :D

.... Since, it's Lavi, I should have written more than that. I mean, he's one of my favorite anime characters. It seems , though, that when I start writing I forget what I wanted to say while watching -_- A Thoughts to Text software, instead voice, would be very handy!
